Faculty of Law and Political Science organizes an awareness seminar on the exploitation of Iraq’s children by organized crime gangs
Under the auspices of President of Diyala University Dr.Tahsin Hussein Mubarak and with the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Science Dr. Khalifa Ibrahim Odeh, The Sub-Commission on Human Rights with the cooperation of the community of police and the provincial human rights office held a seminar entitled (The Iraqi children exploitation to the organized crime gangs exploitation).
The seminar aimed at familiarizing the audience with the most important laws that foster the protection of children and ways to strengthen them. Assistant Professor Abdelbaset Abdelrahim Abbas chaired the session. The Director of Community Police, Brigadier General Salah Adnan Ismail, presented the first lecture. Addressing the role of community police officers and ways of protecting children from begging and trading their organs, the mechanism for reporting phenomena on the toll-free number allocated to them is 187 to reduce this bad phenomenon, and indicating that community police officers are deployed throughout the governorate, district to receive all reports on such phenomena.
For his part, Professor Salah Mahdi Saleh, Director of the Human Rights Office in the governorate, highlighted organized crime and juvenile crime and the most important laws dealing with child protection. At the end of the seminars sessions, Mr. Dean of the College did honoured the participants with a certificate of appreciation.
